Want to Tone Up Without Going to the Gym?

Ever feel too tired, too busy or just too lazy to go to the gym but wish you could tone up somehow? Maybe you just don't have the spare cash for a gym membership or it's just not convenient to get to.

I get how life can get the best of us and I also understand when you lack motivation to hit the gym. This is why I have come up with some things you can do at home that doesn't involve raising too much of a sweat and takes next to no time at all.

Try adding this to your every day lifestyle and see if you notice a difference.

WHEN YOU ARE WATCHING TV

Okay, so your fave TV show is on? That's fine. You can still tighten that butt while watching it! Every time an ad break is on, go to the closest wall and do a wall squat. Hold this pose for the entire ad break and once your show comes back on, relax and enjoy!

Wall squat; put your back up against the wall and bend your knees so it is at a 90 degree angle. Pretend like you are sitting on a chair and ensure your back is straight. Keep in mind that your toes should not be past your knees. Hold this position.

EVERY TIME YOU GO TO THE KITCHEN OR BATHROOM SINK

Going to wash the dishes or even brush your teeth? Make a note to yourself that every time you go to the sink, you do 20 push ups on the bench.

Standing push ups; Stand 1 metre away from the bench, place your palms on the sink/bench so you are at a 45 degree angle. Bend your arms so your chest is nearly touching the bench then push your arms straight so your chest is away from the bench, repeat. Do 20 push ups every time you go near a sink/bench.

BEFORE YOU GO TO BED

Every night, before you go to sleep, do a plank for one minute. Hold the plank position on your elbows and forearms for 1 minute. Ensure your back is straight and you are on your toes. Remember not to stick your butt too high in the air. Do this every night until you can work up to 2 minutes. Jumping into bed is your reward!

Try incorporating these three suggestions into your lifestyle every day. It takes little to no time, costs no money and is not vigorous activity. Challenge yourself to stick to this every day for a month and let me know how you go.

I would love to hear your results!
