It can be hard dealing with people that always look to point out your flaws. Some people just plain go out of their way to make you look bad in front of others or even behind closed doors.
Now that you know you aren’t going to get what you thought you wanted, how are you going to move forward from this?
It is like we are all constantly chasing that feeling of happiness. To feel that we have reached our desired destination. To finally feel "happy".
Can vulnerability be the answer?
Ever wondered why there are people out there that seem to always get what they want?
I used to be one of those people that continued to fall short, mainly when it came to achieving my fitness and lifestyle goals. I would try my best, but always seemed to fail.
People die, accidents happen, nature strikes or the actions of others can cause us harm. Sometimes, things can get tough because of our own actions and self sabotaging prophecies.
I was completely devastated. I felt like I had been shaken down to my core. Everything I had ever known was being taken away from me.
I didn’t want to leave him, because I didn’t want to be judged as weak, or as the girl who gave up.
Sometimes life will throw us curve balls, break us down a little, to shake us up and force us to grow.
My experience of anxiety and shame when I struggled with academia fueled me to accomplish something else I could be proud of...
NO means NO. There are no if, buts or maybes.
The more I thought about it, the more I realised that the longer I continued doing what I was doing, the deeper into my comfort zone I would get. I would get sucked in and then stuck in a world I was accustomed to.
In the modern world with social media and dating apps, people are so easily accessible and even disposable, that old fashion courtship seems to have almost diminished.
Every single one of us is fighting our own battle. Each one of us have experienced our own trials and tribulations. Each one of us have experienced our own kind of heartbreak, pain and loss.
Little did I know this meeting would change my life forever.
We meet people for a season, a reason or a lifetime. There are people we meet that will be of significance in our lives, whether it is for a short time or a long time
I would rather do my best trying to achieve my goals and making the most of my time here on earth than to not try and always be left wondering "What if?'.
It's not a question of "Am I good enough?" It's a question of "How much do I want it?"
At the end of the day, it is really up to us. We have a choice. Be careful what you wish for.
"Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity".
Whatever it is that we want, in some way or form, we have to take a risk. It is like we are in a constant exchange with the universe. If we want to receive, we have to sacrifice something.
The 24 hours I spent in Malaysia may have been short but it definitely was sweet. So sweet that it changed me forever.
